Jennifer’s Body

Jennifer's Body (2009)

Horror comedies are hard to pull off. When the key selling point for your horror comedy is that Megan Fox is hot, it’s tough to be taken seriously. Yet Jennifer’s Body pulls it off well. Fox turns in a better performance than many will want to give her credit for, Amanda Seyfried turns in a fine performance is her quirky nerdy friend, Needy, and the story moves along really well considering the setup is that a girl gets turned into a demon by a wannabe rock band. It’s not high art and it’s not really one for the kids, but it’s entertaining and surprisingly suspenseful at times. Definitely better than I expected.
