The Neverending Story

The Neverending Story (1984)

Introduced my kids to The Neverending Story this weekend and it went over really well. The movies of my childhood, of course, always fall flat because my kids have grown up with big budget special effects and, well, I didn’t. The story moved along well enough for their ridiculously short attention spans. There was enough action to keep them hooked while still allowing the characters to become sympathetic friends. It has more heart than most action/fantasy stuff out there and a lot more emotional highs and lows and action than your average children’s movie. The story, too, is great and really allows viewers to get sucked in. Definitely worth checking out – even if you don’t have kids to blame it on. 😉
