For the record, this installment is not nearly as good as the original. The framing comic story is overdone and the stories are, by and large, weaker. “Old Chief Wood’nhead” is a story of vengeance that is completely predictable and horribly paced. The bulk of the time is spent with punks terrorizing our sympathetic victims – their actual comeuppance takes about five minutes. The setup, though, is good and George Kennedy and Dorothy Lamour are perfect in their roles. “The Raft” is hands down the best story and shows what a short vignette CAN be: get in, get your scares and get out. “The Hitcher” is just dumb. This movie isn’t going to scare you, but the first two stories make it worth a rental.
