Though shocking in its day, the film doesn’t hold up that well. You can get more exciting sex in an R-rated film and more blood and gore in a PG-13 film. That said, I does hold some low end appeal to fans of 70s horror. The “Hammer” vibe in unmistakeable, although it has nowhere near the intelligence of the classic Hammer films. The acting ranges from poor to passable, the dialog is as scant as the clothing and the story itself serves its purpose. There is some suspense, but not enough for a feature film and very little is ever explained. There’s definitely the hint of a bigger story behind the story, but they never really explore, assuming that most viewers are there just for the lesbian vampire angle. It’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of the genre. If you’re titillated by sex and gore, you’re better served looking elsewhere.
