The House That Dripped Blood

The House That Dripped Blood (1971)

I’ve always loved anthologies and this is one of my favorites from childhood.  Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee lead a powerful cast through four tales of the macabre, all centered around a mysterious house.  The framing story is a bit weak and the resolution is a little cheesy, but the primary tales are all great – if a bit campy – fun.  The film may have lost some of its “horror” and shock value over the years and is definitely dated, but for fans of the old Hammer films this is definitely worth checking out.

Stars: 4/5
